Sprinkle in Some Holiday Fun!

Have fun changing up the routine by adding some fun holiday activities that can also help to boost your child's speech and language skills. Language and sounds are everywhere you go! You can work on prepositions while hanging up or taking down ornaments, practice sequencing and direction following while decorating cookies, have a child listen for a target sound while reading a holiday story, watch holiday movies and practice retelling skills by having him/her sum up the movie, and so much more! Something to keep in mind is that activities that are out of the ordinary or special are usually the ones that capture a child's attention most and help to facilitate improved recall of concepts.
