ABOUT ME

Jordan Mariah Ullah, M.A., CCC-SLP

Licensed & Certified Speech Therapist

Speech Generating Device/AAC Specialist

I am an accomplished SLP who works with clients of all ages with diverse impairments. As long as I can remember I have been teaching someone something somewhere from tennis to viola to Sunday school, and I have home video tapes to prove it :).

Once I came across the field of Speech Language Pathology, I knew it was the perfect career choice for me, melding my passion for communication with scientific analysis, data tracking, and research. I specialize in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and have extensive knowledge in the most recent research, approaches, devices, and applications within the AAC world. Outside of the therapy room you will find me playing tennis, singing to the radio, dancing to Zumba, working on projects in the garage with my husband, and spoiling my fur-baby- Sushi Meowgi.

MY APPROACH

I know how to build a solid rapport with children and introduce them to a high level of expectations that they can rise up to meet. I seek out the most recent research to ensure that my therapy is evidence-based. In my experience, I have learned that children are more receptive to learning when the information is: presented in their learning style, relatable, and fun.

Upon getting to know each child, I incorporate elements of their interests into my sessions, whether it be recipes, crafts, music, sports, etc. I also guide families towards becoming "DIY speech therapists”. Parents walk out of my training sessions with the confidence and tools to effectively elicit their child’s skills at home and other environments (ex. grocery stores, school, etc.). I am skilled at reading body language, creative with my therapy planning, and am a quick and effective problem-solver. I also specialize in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) evaluations and therapy.
